The platform works on a lead-generation model: a student fills out a detailed requirement form and verifies their phone via OTP, and the requirement is shared with relevant tutors who contact the student directly. Tutors create profiles for free, but to receive and respond to leads they purchase access, with visibility tied to membership and a per-lead "coin" system. UrbanPro also offers a SecurePay option for handling payments.

Creating a tutor account is free, while a Premium Membership is around Rs. 500 per month and tutors spend coins to unlock leads. UrbanPro states that over 650,000 tutors have connected with around 5 million students, and that top tutors earn roughly ₹40,000 to ₹1,50,000 per month. It suits independent tutors and institutes in India seeking student leads, and learners wanting a broad choice of local or online tutors.
