Schoolhouse.world is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2020 by Sal Khan (creator of Khan Academy), built on the idea that students can effectively support one another’s learning. It describes itself as the world’s largest platform for free, live, peer-to-peer tutoring, with no applications or paywalls — the entire platform is free.

The service combines scheduled small-group sessions with on-demand homework help, all delivered live via Zoom by vetted, trained high-school and college student volunteers who have mastered the material. Programs include official Digital SAT prep, homework help in math and science, peer "Dialogues," and college admissions workshops. Through a partnership with the College Board, learners access free four-week SAT bootcamps run by peer tutors who scored 700+ and completed certification.

The platform is completely free, funded as a nonprofit. It reports serving 174,000+ to 196,000+ learners across 180+ countries with 485,000+ sessions completed. It suits motivated students worldwide who want free, structured academic and SAT support and are comfortable with small-group, peer-led learning; volunteer tutors can also earn a verified portfolio recognised by participating colleges.
